Away from home

When im away from home i like to be able to still do a bit of glueing and sticking. Last xmas a friend bought me a 2 foot wooden skeleton to make , but not only did i have to make it she wanted me to cover the pieces in paper first and then make it.
She bought herself a little owl to do and thought a 2 foot one would be great for me. So he is started and i am now taking him with me when im away from home working for a week or more. I have no idea what hotel staff must think


I have used Basic Grey Black Tie on him and think it works rather well. Just hope i have enough of the paper to finish him as there is rather a lot of him still to do.
(so if anyone looking has any odd"n"ends of Basic Grey Black Tie i would be gratefull , just drop me a line)
will post updates of him from time to time and i will have to give him a name at some point.

These were fun to make and they are now hanging on the wall down the stairs , very unlike me to have any of my work anywhere in the house except the craft room.

Not done much this week , well actually done nothing in the crafting department.
Spent a lovely Thursday at Sheffiled seeing the Vivian Westwood exibition , realy nice stuff.Took Olivia and Hannah with me. Today went cloths shopping with Olivia , she seems very happy.

Joanne's Bra

Well here is the last of the Bra's ,. I have been waiting for some jewels from Banana Frog so i could finish it , they arrived last week so over the weekend i finished it. Im sure we are going to look great on the day..........
Anyway we will see in 2 weeks , im hopeing to get a photo of use all waering them together.

Couple of ATC's

Been away on holiday , but im back . Not done alot of crafting of any sort but feel the need to today. So tonight i think i might do some cards. In the mean time here are 2 ATC's i have made. The base of the ATC is made with Tyvek , a great medium to work with , i just love heating it and seeing it change.

Bra's

The CWU North East Women's Group are taking part in the Sunwalk in Newcastle 7th September. It's all for breast cancer and you do it in your bra. So instead of having boring bra's i thought it would be nice to jazz them up a bit. There were 6 to do so Gail , Hannah and my self got to work Friday night and produced the following. there's one missing (that's yours Joanne) as I am waiting on green pearls to arrive to finish it off.

6x6 pages

A couple of 6x6 pages i have done for our glue and stick class we hold on the last Monday of the month. Again like the cj's i had been doing you use a chosen stamp to creat a 6x6 .

Ive used a Glimmer Chip butterfly on one , told you i was liking these and a lovely grungeboard swirl painted with crackle oaint on the other one. Lots of fun spraying and painting

Banner Swap

Ive used some of the lovely Embossed Glimmer Chips as the wings on the hearts , colouring them first with Glimmer Mist and then rubbing them over the top with Staz-on. I think they are very effective and must order some of the new ones for the shop.

Here are the 5 banners i have made for a banner swap on ukScrappers. They are all very similar and i must admit i thought they were going to be a bit bigger , but after getting the measurments from Monika's blog for them i realised they were smaller than i had in my mind.Not to worry had fun doing them.

Cards for Andrea

A blog section of 4 cards i made dedicated to Andrea the queen of card making .Not quite as cute as yours but im trying LOL .
I had to use the new Core'dinations Black Magic Hocus Pocus card stock that i had just bought. It's the card that has a coloured core , so if you sand it you get the colour coming through .

21 Houses

Here are the 21 houses i made for Sarah's house swap , i was realy running late with this one so ended up making them on my weekend retreat at Gibside in Newcastle the other weekend. I ve now got the other ones back and they are realy nice , a great swap .

CJ's again

Both CJ's are coming to an end , infact i think i have now finished .I just need to take a picture of Efemera's that i have just done and that's it , but (ther's always a but ) im now doing a fabric one.And i also have an idea for another one which i think i might start putting together in September.Get the summer ( what summer i hear you ask) out of the way first .

Last 4

Yep the last 4 skinny pages are done.Once I got into them Ii just loved messing around making them. Just hope I haven't made everyone wait for them to be swapped out. Now all i have to do is wait for the swap to be sorted and posted out.
So off to get supplies tomorrrow so i can finish off my fabric CJ as it needs to be posted Monday , at least i know what im doing with it. I also need some odd n ends for the 21 houses i need to make and post by Friday .
Must also do some ATC's and my 6x6 page for glue and stick on Monday. Will i have time to sleep ????????????????

Deadlines

Why o why do i always end up having to stay up half the night to finish swaps off.
I have a few on at the moment but they all seem pretty big ones , 5 material skinny pages and 5 paper skinny pages is the one that needs finishing first. As it stands at the moment I have 4 finished fabric ones and 2 finished papers ones , with 3 paper ones drying for one reason or another. So here are the finished ones ive done in the lst couple of days and tonight. Just waiting for it all to dry now .Think i will do the fabric one i have eft tomorrow night and that will be them finished

Rusty Pickles

Wednesday night saw me at a three hour class in Castle Eden run by Mr Pickles himself Lance Anderson . Great night nad a great class .Just love the red/black and cream papers we used , just my colours LOL
So here's are some pictures of what i made.

Bag

Hannah bought some bags for use to decorate . I've actually had mine made/decorated for a couple of weeks , just never got round to taking any photo's . So here is a picture of the back and front .I used Cosmo Cricket Fleuriste , i realy like this paper and thought the best way to show it off would be to use it on this bag. Stamped ladies are Catslife Press stamps another favourite. All in all i think it turned out rather well.

CJ entries

Here are a couple of pictures of 2 CJ's i have done this week. The stamp ones off ukstampers and ukscrappers , i get so confused as to who's is who's , but i think we are nearing the end of them now.
Must think up another one to do.

The 1st ones was to use a pear stamp and the green one was to use the tree stamp .
The tree i stamped onto acertate and then put this over the top of a church yard scene. The pear i did into a nice pair of ...........you can guess the rest im sure.

Skinny pages

Well I made my first fabric one last night , wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. Gail said just treat it like paper , she knows what's she talking about but it's not paper and it doesn't have the same properties as paper but I think I got there in the end.
I made the cream one with the dangling houses last night at Gail's and was so inspired made another 2 for the swap today at home. I'm keeping the first one I made for myself.

Wearable art swap

I took part in the Wearable Art Swap on Ukscrappers and forgot to take photo's of the 2 I made. But her are the ones I got in return. Thanks ladies good swap I enjoyed it.
Well lifes busy ive signed up to do 6 mixed media and 6 fabric skinniny pages. Havn't started yet but it means there will be lots of photo's for the blog.
Also signed up for a Fabric CJ this will be interesting and Gail is going to have to help me on my way with this I think. All ive ever done with fabric is my apron and the doll. Time to learn more stuff I think.
Im just doing cj entries this afternoon 3 down 1 to go , so I will post those pictures tomorrow.
